just for fun ...
Nikolai took some team pictures of us by the sea the other night after my birthday supper. He took a lot of pictures, and made us laugh a lot, so he got some pretty great pictures of us laughing! I thought this series of pictures was pretty fun, as it goes from us looking kind of normal to unable to contain ourselves with laughter! I think they sum up our team pretty well ... we like to laugh together! Enjoy!
My 25th Birthday!
On Wednesday, I turned a quarter of a century old ... and I can think of no better way to celebrate than the way I did with my friends here in Estonia. Of course, celebrating with family would be nice too, but it is always neat to celebrate in another country. :) Having a birthday in the summer months means that I've had plenty of opportunities to celebrate in other countries - twice in Zambia, twice now in Estonia, and once in El Salvador.
I thought I'd share a few photos of my past birthdays, and then share some of the highlights from my day here in Estonia!
2003: Joint birthday celebration with Diane Mann at the Merritt's in Namwianga, Zambia
2005: Joint birthday celebrations with Jason Bragg and Iiris Kohv in Tallinn, Estonia
2006: Joint birthday celebrations with Lia Roberts at the Merritt's in Namwianga, Zambia AND birthday Coke and ice cream with Tamara, Alicia and Tiff at El Pantano in Kalomo, Zambia
2007: Birthday celebrations at home, but I had just returned from two months in Africa (Zambia and Tanzania). Tamara threw a sweet Africa-themed surprise party for me!
2008: I spent the day working at FUDEM in El Salvador, but I got taken out to eat several times by some good friends/co-workers. It was always to Pizza Hut ... I guess they figured that I really like pizza! :)
And now, 2009! Pretty much, I was showered with gifts, flowers, chocolate and well-wishes all day long! Seriously, what more could a girl want?! And then the day ended with supper at a restaurant right by the sea. So perfect! There was an incredible moon over Old Town on the drive home, and even fireworks over the sea! Just for me, I'm sure! ;)
