a wandering mind

My mind takes me millions of places when I should be studying. Just about anything is capable of capturing my attention, and taking my mind off of studying. Like writing this blog. I'm in the middle of making flashcards for my Monday final - Diseases of the Eye. Don't know if anything could get more exciting than making flashcards (I know that you love my flashcards, Tamara!) Anyways, I have been thinking lately about some of the things that I would like to do or accomplish in my life - my "to-do list", I guess you could call it. Here are some of the things that I came up with, in no particular order (some of them are obvious, other ones are just little things that most people probably had no idea about):

1. Finish Optometry school (just 3 years to go!)
2. Get married and have kids - I've always thought that it would be cool to adopt a kid as well
3. Practice optometry overseas somewhere (not sure where, probably a third-world country; this has been my dream for a long time)
4. I'd also like to practice optometry somewhere in Canada - not sure if I want to have my own practice or would just want to be a part of one - we will see in the future
5. Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro (I was reminded of this one as I flipped through a magazine the other day and there was an article about it)
6. Take a cross-Canada trip (driving or biking - I think it would be sweet to bike across Canada one summer) - our country has so much beauty in it, and there is so much that I haven't seen, so I would love to see the whole country in one shot
7. Run a marathon (or half-marathon might be slightly more realistic), or do a triathlon
8. Learn to play the guitar
9. Become a really good photographer (I've always thought that a photographer for a magazine like National Geographic would be the sweetest job ever - I'm not aiming for that, but I would just like to be able to take good pictures)
10. Learn to snowboard
11. Travel anywhere that I have the chance to travel to
12. Go bungee-jumping (I'm thinking about maybe going this summer at Vic Falls in Zimbabwe, if I can work myself up to it before that time)

That's the beginning of my list, for now anyways. I'm drawing a blank on some of the other things. And besides, I think that I have procrastinated for long enough, and it is time to get back to my flashcards. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter weekend!

Great list Jilly, except for that bungee jumping at Vic Falls idea. I don't know if my heart can take that! I may have to convince you to leave it until sometime when I am not with you.

Happy flashcards, happy studying, and happy Easter. A week and a half and studying will be history for this school year. Hang in there.
Love, mom xoxoxo

Hey Jilly,
Great list. I believe that you have the ability to do everything on this list. In fact I would love to see you do all on this list. Howevever, I am with Mom on the bungy jumping in Zimbabwe. Would prefer you to bungy jump maybe someplace where safety standards are a little higher. You saw the safety rails they had on the Zimbabwe side of Vic Falls (like none). Love you Jilly. Happy studying.

Go Jilly Go!

Keep making those to do lists...to-dos are one of my favourite things in the world! There is no limit to what we can dream up...and if they are on a list, they are more likely to actually get done.

Classic move with the flashcards;) Did you make any amino acid chains just for old times sake? :-P

So you and Alisha are the crazy bungee jumpers eh? I watched a guy from Arkansas jump over the gorge in Zambia...and I figure I was brave just to watch...it was horrifying...but he seemed to have fun. He even a got a second jump for free....so in about a ten minute time span he had flown through the air, head first with his feet tied together - twice! for the price of one! Now I'm never one to pass on a bargain... except now.

Wanna go white water rafting with me instead?!

Did you play with your bunny stickers and hang your egg garland on Easter?!
