i'm a slacker

Once again, it has been a lengthy period of time since I last posted. No big excuses here - life just gets busy sometimes. I've mostly been busy with work, but also with preparations for Zambia, as well as spending quality time with the people that I have missed so much over this past year. I can't believe that it has now been over two months that I have been home. It's gone by so fast - and has been SO good. In some ways, it feels like I was never gone. I know that it will once again be hard to leave in the fall, but at least I know exactly what I am going to this time. And a little part of me kind of misses school right now too. But only just a little teeny tiny part. Knowing that I will only have a couple more weeks at home once we get back from Zambia is the only thing that makes me want the time to go to Zambia to not be here yet.

But I'm not going to get myself worked up over school just yet - because I have a lot to look forward to before then. Wow - so much. Sometimes I kind of forget exactly what it is that I get to do this summer - but then something little will remind me, and I am blown away by this opportunity all over again. I can't really put into words the excitement that I feel about being able to go back to Zambia.

What else has happened? Here's some things in point form (it would take too long otherwise):
-Jonathan convocated from the University of Regina, which was fun, and the ceremony was less boring than I thought that it was going to be.
-I had an amazing weekend out at Dallas Valley for our Heart Shapers Retreat. So many good memories.
-Had a great night chatting and catching up with Chelsa. Man, I had missed that girl, and it was awesome to just come back together, and get entirely caught up on each other's lives.
-Spent a fun day at the spray pad with Abbi and Mattias
-Made the most amazing Estonian pancakes (Banana Chocolate Mint) with Crystal and Tamara
-Watched a little bit of World Cup soccer
-Cousin Sandra graduates from Western tomorrow

I only have two more shifts of work, and then the whole family is heading to Winnipeg and Betty-Jean and Chris' cabin at Victoria Beach for the long weekend. I think we'll be back in Regina by Tuesday. Wednesday night, me, Alicia and Melissa are going to see City & Colour. And then a couple days of crazy last minute preparations before we board a plane on the Sunday. Still doesn't seem real - but it will soon enough.
