we returned home from our trip to winnipeg/victoria beach late tuesday night. it was great to get away for the weekend - and especially to relax, without having to think of the millions of things that should be getting done.
canada day was great. a nice sleep-in, some soccer to watch, yummy gelati, a swim in the pool, beautiful sunshine. the only thing that could have made it better was if england had won their game.
the rest of the weekend was at victoria beach, complete with bike-riding, pier-jumping, swimming, bocce, darts, reading, watching movies, and pizza buns, dreams and smile cookies from the bakery. without a doubt, victoria beach has got to be one of my favourite vacation spots ever. it just doesn't get much better than a weekend out there.
the last couple days have been full of last minute preparations. mostly packing, but also some other stuff. tonight, i finally finished up the songbook. it feels good to have that out of the way - it took forever, mostly just because i'm a perfectionist. maybe now i'll be to focus on getting on other things done. i've been wired the past couple days - so excited, and knowing that there is so much to be done, but not really able to focus and make myself finish one project completely. i'll get about five started, and never really finish any of them. thankfully though, things are slowly being knocked off of the "to do" list.
okay, i'm out. there is more things that need to get done. tomorrow we are going to balcarres to visit my grandma, and hopefully my bag will also get packed at some point in the day. i'm hoping that we might go to the new Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow night. we'll see - i'm excited to see it.
