More Zambian Adventures

Well, a couple more days have passed since I last wrote, and I wanted to let you all know more of what I have been doing over here. Sunday was a relaxing day, with us going to church at Namwianga Secondary. I was able to see some more familiar faces, and sing some familiar songs. Kathleen (from Seven Fountains) and Misozi and her baby, Katie, came over for the service as well. They joined us for lunch at the Mbumwaes, along with Meghan Hawley, a girl from the States who is here working for a couple years. It was nice to spend time with both of these girls, visiting and learning some about them. It seems, at least right now, that all of the young, single Canadians or Americans that come over to live/visit, are female. Where are all the young, single males who would be willing to come over? Maybe out there somewhere? It would be nice if they were willing to come, and join us ladies on our adventuring! I don't think any of us would protest if we were joined by some good-looking guys, no matter where they were from, who were willing to help out!

Anyways, after lunch, we watched a movie (One Night with the King), and spent the late afternoon/early evening just puttering around inside and outside. Of course, Ruhtt never rests much, and was out burning grass, fixing up in the garden and bathing the dogs. Speaking of the dogs, Tripod and Tasha are doing well. I like those two. And there is a new little puppy running around too - Tara, I think Ruhtt said her name was. She's a cute little thing.

I went to the evening service with Shepherd, and once again enjoyed myself. My favourite part of the evening service has got to be when groups bring forth a song(s) at the end of the service. The songs didn't disappoint this week. I just love hearing Zambian people sing - whether in English or Tonga, it just brings such joy to my heart.

This morning I did some typing and administrative type work for Ruhtt, while she was busy answering to people at the door. This afternoon I sat in on a meeting at Good Hope, where they were discussing how they can improve for the future. Although I'm not a teacher, I found it very interesting to hear what was said, and the opinions of those present.

Tonight holds the college Bible study at the Mbumwaes house. Thankfully, I'm not in charge of leading it, so I can just enjoy meeting the students and being there as a participant. I'm not sure what the schedule holds tomorrow - but I'm sure we'll have a busy day, no matter what happens.

I'm continuing to love being here. It is such a blessing to be here on my own, and to see more closely how things are done. I hope that all your days have been as blessed as mine have.

Thinking of all of you,
Jilly
