intentional living.

it's a new school year. which always carries a sense of newness with it. summer is full of freedom, and spur-of-the-moment fun. which is great. but, it feels good to be back in a routine.

this year, i'm trying to be intentional about how i do things, the way i live. even the little things. in the past, i have good intentions - but it often doesn't get any further than that. i get distracted and lazy, and in the end, feel guilty. not this year though. i want to live my life not just with good intentions, but good fulfillment of those intentions. it's only been about a week, but i can tell you this - i feel good. i don't know if it's any different than how i've felt at the beginning of any other school year, but right now, i feel confident, sure of myself and my abilities, ready to tackle this school year, and excited to pursue my passions and heart's calling even further.

here's some of the things that i'm trying to be intentional about:
-getting to the gym every weekday
-eating healthy
-being a better daughter, sister, friend
-communicating with friends (those close by and far away)
-reading my Bible more regularly
-spending more time reading for pleasure
-becoming even more diligent about studying for school
-trying to find someplace where i can serve once or twice a week
-being content with what i have, and not trying to find happiness in more things
-getting outside to walk or bike more often
-being thankful

and a few small things as well, such as:
-flossing my teeth everyday!

i'll let you know how it goes. of course, it's always hard at the beginning. but soon, these things should become like routine, part of my regular daily life.

Why is it so flippin' hard to commit to?!

i'm inspired and encouraged by your intentional list of things to do. i know you can do anything you put your mind to! just don't forget to leave room for the occasional human slip here and there. ;)
