bits and pieces

here's a few little tidbits about life lately:
- went to ancaster for thanksgiving weekend. enjoyed some time out there, visiting with some family. i'm thankful that i have some family close enough to spend weekends like thanksgiving with. also got to visit with emily and tyler at church on sunday, which was nice.
- wrote my first midterm of the semester today. easy stuff. these things really don't seem like a big deal anymore.
- had my first contact lens ever in my eye yesterday. and it was a hard one. not a pleasant feeling. imagine a large something in your eye, that you can't blink out, no matter how hard you try.
- know where i'll be (in terms of placements) all the way up until the end of school (april 2009). one term is yet to be established - but i have the plans in my head. we'll see if it works out as i am hoping. i'll write more about this soon, filling you all in on the next couple years of my life.
- seen four patients in clinic. so far, so good. tomorrow i observe in the laser clinic (am), and spend my afternoon in optical services (where they dispense the glasses).
- read/reading some good books lately. finished up 'three cups of tea' a couple weeks ago. i loved it. such a good book - would definitely recommend others to read it. right now, i'm reading 'mountains beyond mountains', which i'm also thoroughly enjoying. next on my list: '28', 'shake hands with the devil', and 'reading lolita in tehran'.
- i'm LOVING having a car down here.
- life is crazy busy. but good. no complaints from me.
