11/31 - My Day

It was quite a day, so instead of trying to come up with something remotely insightful, I'm just going to briefly share about it. :)

My day started at 6, when I woke up for the day. I headed out into the bitter cold at about 7:45 (to make it to work by 8), and thankfully, my car started no problem! On my drive to work though (only about 16 blocks), the ABS light in my car came on. Strange, I thought, as it hasn't come on in over a year. I had a bunch of problems with it last winter, but finally got it fixed, and it hasn't given me troubles since. I didn't think too much about it though, as I just chalked it up to this cold weather.

Flash forward to about an hour later at work, and one of the ladies asks me if I know that my back tire is almost completely flat. No - I had no idea! I couldn't deal with it right then as we were just about to start seeing patients, but thankfully, we had a long lunch today, which gave me the time to be able to deal with it. I called CAA, and within 15 minutes they were there, put some air in it, and made sure I made it safely to a tire place. The tire was fixed within about another half an hour, and within 1 hour of making the original call to CAA, I was back at the office! That's pretty impressive service, if you ask me! Makes me glad that I have CAA, because I sure wouldn't want to be out dealing with a flat tire by myself in this weather!

Now, on to the afternoon. On paper, the afternoon didn't look too bad. It actually looked kind of light in patient load, compared to some other afternoons that we've had. But I should know better than to EVER think any kind of thought like this! Many hours later, I was able to finally leave the office at 7:30! Definitely a new record for me! We did see a lot of interesting cases in the afternoon, which I am thankful for, as it gives me lots of opportunity to learn. Also, due to the time change this weekend, it was still light out when I left - so I didn't feel too bad!

And tonight, I've just relaxed. I was looking forward to watching a new LOST episode - but there wasn't one this week. So disappointing!

Lastly, the best part of the day was hearing that Coldplay is playing in Winnipeg on June 15th! So, so stoked about this! Tickets are definitely going to bought (as long as I can get them!), and I cannot wait!
