15/31 - Weekend Recap

I'm pretty exhausted from my weekend ... and I have an early morning at work tomorrow. I'm in Winnipeg for a couple days of work with a pediatric ophthalmologist. He's on-call, so I won't be seeing a ton of pediatric stuff with him (he'll be seeing all the emergencies), but it should be an interesting couple days anyways. Speaking of work, I'm down to only 3 weeks + 2 days. I'm so excited to be that close to be done. While I have really enjoyed and benefited from this placement, I'm looking forward to some time off that I can devote solely to studying. I'm also really looking forward to a bit of rest time (I've worked a lot of LONG days), and having time to be active again (it's been a long, cold winter, and I've missed my gym membership sorely).

Anyways, I had a great weekend with Jonathan and Alicia. We always have so much fun when we're together. Friday night was spent in Brandon - supper with Bonnie & Charlie, and then a drive around Brandon. We left early Saturday morning (after Bonnie & Charlie made us a lovely breakfast - they are so sweet!), so that we could make it to Winnipeg in time for 10, so that we could get our Coldplay tickets. We made it just in time, and managed to get our tickets ... any later, and we would have been out of luck. I'm just so happy that we got them!

The rest of Saturday was spent going to a few of our favourite Winnipeg places - Polo Park (including McNally Robinson - the best bookstore ever!), MEC, and the Forks. We did LOTS of eating, enjoying everything from gelato to rotis at the Forks to Olive Garden to roasted seed, sprout and cream cheese sandwiches! YUM! I love good food! Mostly, it was just great to all be together - to laugh at sweet jokes, crank out some sweet tunes with our windows open, and enjoy some good conversations together.

I'm thankful for these two, and for the role that they've played in my life. We share some sweet memories, and I know that there are many more to come, regardless of where we all end up.

And now, I'm off to bed. See you tomorrow.
