I realized recently that I've never really explained my new blog name since I had my blog makeover. Not that it requires much explanation ... but I thought that I would share where my inspiration came from :)
An artist I've listened to lots over the past year is Sara Groves. I really enjoy her music, and even more so, the thought and depth behind her lyrics. I've already blogged about a couple of her songs, 'The Long Defeat' and 'I Saw What I Saw', both of which had a significant impact on me. While trying to decide what I wanted to call my blog, I was listening to one of her CDs, and the song 'Just Showed Up For My Own Life' came on.
The second verse words are:
I'm going to live my life inspired
Look for the holy in the common place
Open the windows and feel all that's honest and real until I'm truly amazed
I'm going to feel all my emotions
I'm going to look you in the eyes
I'm going to listen and hear until it's finally clear and it changes our lives
I loved the idea of 'living my life inspired', finding beauty and joy in all the little and big things. As I've said before, I felt (and feel) that I'm living in some of the best days of my life, and I want to embrace all that is ahead of me and make the most of every blessing that I have been given.
In the chorus, it says:
I just showed up for my own life
And I'm standing here taking it in and it sure looks bright
Oh the glory of God is man fully alive
I want to live my life fully alive - making the most of every opportunity, and doing what I love! I wanted my blog title to reflect all of this, and I feel like it serves its purpose well! :)
The quote on the header is one that I saw on a Quotable card, and it is just a part of how I want to live my life inspired.
Let your light shine. Be a source of strength and courage. Share your wisdom. Radiate love.
