Weekend Recap

This past weekend was SO fun! It all started with our first LST party on Friday night. The theme was 'Canada', and we had some trivia, and then some awesome skits, with appearances from Celine Dion, Bryan Adams and Stephen Harper! We ended the party off with the whole group singing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and some snacks.

After we had cleaned up from the party, Andrea, Crystal and I got to hang out with Asja for the evening. Asja had her car, so she provided the wheels to get around, and we went to eat shashlik (sp). We somehow managed to find, somewhat on purpose, somewhat by accident, the place where we ate shashlik 4 years ago. We were fairly certain last time that it was run by the mafia, and we felt the same way this time! :) But the food was awesome, and the company was great! Seriously, Asja is awesome! I love that girl - so much fun! We just laughed and laughed with her! After eating, we went and walked by the sea a little bit, and had more fun laughing and talking with Asja. Such a great night!

On Saturday, Crystal and I got up and went for a run by the sea! Man, running is so much better when you're running beside the Baltic Sea! It felt so good to be out running and being active again. In the afternoon, we wandered down to Old Town, and walked through the main square, where they had booths set up and entertainment for Medieval Days. It was pretty awesome! We wandered through the streets and shops ... and seemed to do a lot of eating as well! :) It's so easy to do that here! We were about to start making our way back home, and were coming up to the square, when we spotted our fellow Canadian friends, Leah & Craig Reid, along with Stas, Nastya and Nikolai. So, we ended up going for supper for with all of them. Unfortunately, I wasn't really hungry at that point - but the company was good!

Yesterday, was a really full day! We went to church at Asunduse in Tallinn, and then at 1:30, Andrea, Crystal, Asja and I caught the bus to Tartu. We went for church there at 4:00, and just enjoyed hanging out with all the wonderful people there for the several hours. We left Tartu on the last bus of the day at 10 PM, meaning we didn't get back to Tallinn until after 12, and then had to walk from the bus station back to the church building to Asja's car, so that she could drive us home. We weren't in bed until after 1, and had to up and ready for a normal 'work' day today! Thankfully, God gave me energy, so that I wasn't too tired for my reading sessions today!
