Like most of the country, I have been absolutely captivated by Alexandre Bilodeau over the past 24 hours. He's become an icon in Canadian sport, as he brought us our first Olympic gold medal on home soil. And I don't think we could have asked for a better athlete to finally bring home the gold. He's a true class act, displaying humility, sacrifice, determination and hard work. While we all celebrate his milestone medal, he keeps talking about all the medals still to come in the games. And the storyline with his brother - amazing. He draws his inspiration from his older brother with cerebral palsy.

He united our whole country in celebration, and as he keeps saying, I know there are more of those 'gold medal' moments to come. Well done, Alex Bilodeau.
