... no, the Bible isn't a book of rules, or a book of heroes. The Bible is most of all a story. It's an adventure story about a young Hero who came from a far country to win back his lost treasure. It’s a love story about a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne, everything, to rescue the one he loves. It’s like the most wonderful of fairy tales that has come true in real life.

You see, the best thing about this story is—it’s true.

There are lots of stories in the Bible, but all the stories are telling one big story
the story of how God loves His children and comes to rescue them. It takes the whole Bible to tell this story. And at the center of the Story there is a baby. Every story in the Bible whispers his name. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle—the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together and suddenly you can see a beautiful picture.

Excerpt from "The Jesus Storybook Bible", written by Sally Lloyd-Jones

I LOVE this. It's quoted at the beginning of the live 'Behold the Lamb of God' CD (by Andrew Peterson), which just last year became my favourite Christmas CD (and considering my love of Christmas music, that is no small feat!). I just love how it tells the whole story - not just the birth of Jesus. Because like it says above, every story in the Bible whispers Jesus' name. He is the piece that makes it all fit together. So good.

Jilly,
I am loving the CD! Thank you! Your blog reminded me that I hadn't tried the live CD yet, so it is playing right now. Such a good true story!

Hi Jill,
Thanks so much for sending this to us. We were house sitting at J&S's so I haven't got around to listening to it but it looks like it will be great. I have one more shift to do in Estevan and then hopefully I'll reno Mom and Dad's bathroom. After that I'm back in Regina looking for a job.
Thanks again!
Matthew (& Tamara)
