thankfulness

Today I am thankful for friends. Friends that I can be away from for a year, and come back together, and pick up right where we left off, like we had never been apart. On Tuesday, I was able to share coffee with three great gals. Last year, at about this same time, four of us came together, and enjoyed a night of sharing, along with a few laughs. Prior to leaving, we all became a little bit sad, as we realized that this might be the last coffee that we all were able to share together for a long time, as some of our lives might be taking new directions in the months to follow. Regardless, we were thankful for our time together, and decided to meet up in the same way, the next time we were able. So, on Tuesday, about one year after our first coffee date, we were able to meet once again. Many things have changed in each of our lives since that time - new jobs, new schools, new opportunities. But I am thankful for the fact that we are able to pick up right where we left off last year, and be honest and open with each other, while sharing a few laughs again. It is also such a great feeling to know that no matter where my path in life takes me, that I can rely on friendships like these - always able to come back to them for support, love, or when I just need a good laugh. I'm already looking forward to our next coffee date, one year from now.

Last night, me, Alicia and Tamara, were able to go for a Mary Kay makeover. It was fun to do it together. The best part was the pictures that we took afterwards. We had some great laughs as we tried to take some glamour shots. I think we would all agree that I should definitely not take up modeling, as I have the goofiest look on my face in all of my pictures. It's not my fault that the camera takes the picture at the wrong time! Regardless, it was lots of fun!

Oh man Jill..that coffee date was fantastic...exactly what I needed. I, too, was feeling very thankful for such great friends and a very real, meaningful and fun conversation! Can't wait til our next one.

This message may seem a little strange but I think I grew up with your older brother Jonathan. My name is Aaron Galenzoski and I went to Ethel Milliken in Regina for elementary school but moved to Calgary in 1994 in grade 7. Are you affiliated with Regina Church of Christ? I only ask this because Ray McMillan's son Steve is now the pastor at my church in Calgary, Oak Park Church of Christ, which also happens to be the congregation where your old pastor Kyle Fraser grew up. Small world. I hope you know what I am talking about. If not, sorry about this random comment. Regardless, I pray that your trip to Africa is richly blessed and that God works wonders through your team while you are there. God bless!

Oh man, those Milliken days were definitely some of the best. And that is so weird that you were at Oak Park 4 years ago. I was going there at the time (we have been there since we moved to Calgary) and I think you may have been helping with Shout It Out which I used to help with every summer when I was in school.

How is the rest of your family doing? Is your trip to Africa through your church in Regina? I can imagine you are all very busy preparing for your mission so no hurry in responding. And it will be an awesome experience and God will show you so many amazing things! Tell Jonathan I say hi you can reply to my e-mail if you want instead of posting on my blog! My address is aaron_galenzoski@hotmail.com . Thanks for getting back to me.
