Following exams this year, Jonathan was able to fly to Ontario, and spend some time around my new "home". It was great fun to show him around Waterloo, and to go into Toronto for a couple days. He rented a car, so we were just able to go wherever we wanted. We crammed a lot of stuff into a couple days. It was so awesome to have the time with just the two of us - catching up, talking, and laughing. It was also just such a nice break after finishing school, and having to head to work. Definitely a lot of memories made!
Here's some of what we did, along with some of my favourite pictures from our trip:
- visited with Frank and Noreen in Ancaster
- drove around Hamilton
- Mountain Equipment Coop in Toronto
- CN Tower
- Hockey Hall of Fame
- Blue Jays game
- St. Lawrence Market
- Groucho's Burgers in Toronto
- day in St. Jacob's
- gelato at a little shop close to my house
It was also nice to have him to fly home with, and to arrive home together. And upon arriving home, an angel food cake with 7-minute frosting awaited me! It is our family birthday cake - and I was sad to have missed all the birthdays this year! But I thoroughly enjoyed having a nice big piece, while sitting in my sunroom.
