newsy update

here's a bit more of a newsy update. i've been back in waterloo for a bit over two weeks now. i feel quite settled in. it is so much easier coming back to a place where things are familiar - school, faces, places. school has been good so far. i've found that i've been exhausted these first couple weeks, even though we haven't even had our full schedule yet. my body definitely got out of the groove of 7-hour days of lectures during the summer. slowly, my body is readjusting to it all though. i've found classes to be interesting, and labs have been really good too. i actually feel like i am learning relevant stuff now, and that makes learning it so much easier. i've even enjoyed reading a couple of my textbooks. we have way fewer midterms this year, which is so nice. there is less stuff to be worrying about during the semester. which also means that there will be more at the end - but that's okay, because i have always been good at writing finals.

it is weird to not be the first years anymore. i'm so thankful to be done that year. and like everybody says, it just seems to be getting better. i hope that it continues to be that way.

that's about all there is from here. hope things are going well with all of you, wherever you are.
