it's been a crazy two weeks since being home. no shortage of things to be done. unfortunately, it's late, i've had very little sleep in the past couple nights, and i have lots to do tomorrow, before leaving on tuesday. so, i'm going to hit the highlights in point form.
-one of the best things was the beautiful wedding that i was able to be a part of yesterday. tamara and matthew's wedding was amazing - and i am so thankful to have been able to be a part of the day, but even more importantly, to be a part of their lives. these two are great, and i wish that they were boarding the plane with me on tuesday.
-a trip to saskatoon with jonathan. we were able to visit with the cousins, get our eyes checked, and do some shopping. even more than that though, i'm thankful for the time that i got to spend with just jonathan, sharing in some good talks. he's a great guy - one of the best.
-spending lots of time with friends, including lots of time with my beauty consultant, sharon king
-watching 'Life is Beautiful', an incredible movie. i can't believe it took me that long to see that movie
-going to a fundraising banquet for Soul's Harbour Rescue Mission (which featured Steve Bell). i was so encouraged by the work that i see/heard about going on within the inner city of Regina, and about the life change that has occurred in numerous people's lives within the program. what an incredible evening, and ministry.
-receiving a $4000 bursary that is being applied to my student loan. definitely a real blessing, as it was unexpected since i didn't have to apply for it. i see it as God's little way of giving his final blessing on my africa plans, helping to remind me to not worry about expenses, but to just trust and follow
-getting to see tamara, chelsa and tracy all in one day. yesterday, i spent the day with tamara at her wedding, and in the evening, i spent some time with tracy and chelsa. it is always sweet to spend time with old friends. it felt like old times, as me, chels and trace sat on the couch, laughing and talking.
-having somewhat of a Zambia reunion this past weekend - with lots of Zambia friends in regina for the wedding
-preparing to leave on tuesday morning for one of the biggest adventures of my life
so, that's my life in point form. if i have a chance tomorrow, in between packing and trips to shoppers, i may quickly write with some of my last minute feelings before leaving. if not though, the next time you will hear from me will be from el pantano internet cafe in kalomo, zambia. crazy.
