Now, a recap of our most recent weekend! It was another good one, but really, how can a weekend not be good when you are in Estonia?!
Our 3rd party was Thursday night, and it was a smaller one, with only about 15 people. We played 'Human' Bingo to start things off, and then we gave the two groups a fun picture of our team, and they had to come up with with stories behind the pictures. It was simple, but still fun ... and everybody loved the pictures of us!
On Friday, we met up with Reet, an old reader and friend of Andrea and Crystal. With her, we went to the 24th floor of the Radisson and had coffee. The view up there was incredible ... it's awesome to have a view of the whole city like that! Afterwards, we did some shopping, and ate some yummy pizza! We had intentions of making it into Old Town with her, but never actually made it! After we said goodbye to her, we went to visit Ari, an old reader of Deanna's, in the hospital, since she broke her leg last week. We had a really nice visit with her! And then, Andrea, Deanna and I went with my reader, Anna (Banana), to see Harry Potter! It was great, and so fun to hang out Anna as well! We met up with Anna's friend, Masha, afterwards, and all went to an awesome little pasta place together. Definitely a good day!
Saturday was a day planned out for us by Nikolai. We knew that he was taking us somewhere, but we had no idea where until that morning! :) We met him, Olga and Miss Kate at 10 AM, and we drove to pick up our good friend, Asja (Kate's daughter), from her camp. We spent the day together visiting old manor houses in the Estonian countryside east of Tallinn, and driving through the forest. We ate a delicious lunch at a little restaurant in a small village - sauerkraut soup and pelmeenid. Yum! The whole day was awesome - good company, great scenery - nothing better! We arrived back in Tallinn around 5, and the four of us decided to hit Old Town for some shopping and walking. As a walk in Old Town isn't complete without a pancake from Kompressor, we ended our evening there!
Sunday started off with church at Asunduse. It was awesome because we had a couple readers come to church for the first time, and Merlin came to visit us too! We love her! We ate lunch at the same small cafe as last week, and then headed back to Old Town. I went off with my reader, Kerstin, to spend the afternoon. We went to both of the look-outs, and climbed to the top of the tower in St. Olaf's church. Another great view of the city! It was awesome to spend more time with Kerstin. She comes to read every day, so I've gotten to know her pretty well - and she is so sweet! The evening was spent hanging out with Merlin in our flat - watching movies, and playing games!
And now, we're into our final week here! I can't believe we leave in one week. I don't want to say goodbye yet. :( Time has gone so fast - but it has been so good! Lots of great memories with old and new friends! God has definitely blessed us here, and I am so thankful!
