One week late ...

We're nearly through this weekend ... but before I share about it, I wanted to share some about last weekend. We read until Thursday last week, and had our 2nd party on Thursday night. It had a little bit fewer people than our first party - but it was still lots of fun! The theme was a 'conversation party', so it was full of lots of questions and opportunities to get to know the other people there.

After the party, we were invited to Nikolai & Olga's house for supper. There was a whole group of us there, and we had an incredibly delicious supper. Olga's borscht is to die for - I need her recipe so that I can try making it at home! We had a great visit with everyone, and then Jaime spent the night at our house.

On Friday, we headed to Tartu for the weekend. We left about 2 PM, making it to Tartu around 4 PM. We had supper with an old friend and reader of Andrea's from 1996, Tomas. After supper, he took us out to his house, which is just outside of Tartu. It was gorgeous out there - being surrounded by the fields made me feel like I was back home in Saskatchewan!

Just like home! :)

We spent the evening wandering around the Old Town of Tartu, where their Hansa Days (like Medieval Days) were taking place for the weekend. It was fun looking at the crafts, listening to music, and ... dancing in Old Town Square! Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Eating the MOST DELICIOUS spiced, roasted almonds ever! The scent of them roasting wafts all over the town square ... it's a hard smell to resist!

We spent the night at a flat of another friend of Andrea's. It was nice because we had the whole flat to ourselves! On Saturday morning, the four of us did more wandering through Hansa Days by ourselves, getting a lot of shopping done! After lunch, we met up with our friends from Tartu, Merlin, Talis, Riina, and a few of the younger girls from camp. The younger girls were performing with their music group, so we watched them on the main stage. They were really good! Afterwards, we walked around with everyone for a while, and then went back to the church where we ordered pizza for everyone, and played some games together. By the time we caught the bus back to Tallinn at 8, we were all really exhausted, and thankful to be on our way home to our own beds to sleep!

Sunday was a pretty laid-back day, since we were so exhausted from the last two days. We went to church at Asunduse, and after church, went for lunch with a bunch of people to a small cafe. On our way home, Deanna and I walked through Kadriorg with Galina. In the afternoon, I had a nap, and then in the evening, I went for a run. It was nice to have a more relaxing day so that I could prepare myself for the week of reading that was to come!

Post on this weekend coming soon! :)
